There are a few great places where shopping addicts can fulfil their desires. A very new and quite big venue is The Point shopping mall in Sliema where you can buy almost everything without walking long distances. You won’t find stores like H&M or Primark but if you watch out for the sale periods you will find most clothes to very low prices. During the rest of the year prices are comparable to other European countries. A smaller shopping mall in Sliema is the Plaza Shopping Mall which offers different shops from clothing to books as well as food.

Another great place to go to is the Bay Street Shopping Complex in Paceville, St. Julian’s. Although it is smaller in size, compared to The Point, you can still find a variety of international retail shops, cafeterias and restaurants. For the extravagant shopping experience the Portomaso Shopping Complex, close to the Hilton Tower in Paceville, shouldn’t be missed out. There are not so many shops but those you will find are very luxurious.

Malta’s capital city Valletta is mostly associated with history and Maltese heritage but nowadays the city is also growing popularity as leading shopping and entertainment destination. The Embassy Shopping Complex for example offers several different shops for both teenagers and mature clients. The shopping complex does not cater only for needs of shopping but also for entertainment. But even while you stroll along the streets of Valetta you will find many shops that offer products for all different needs.

Would you like to go shopping on a Sunday morning? There is an open air market in Valletta, just outside the city walls, which is the largest market in Malta. If you don’t mind getting up early you should not miss out the fish market in Marsaxlokk in the south west of Malta or the daily It-Tokk market in Victoria, Gozo. You will also find a daily market in Valletta in Merchant Street. All these markets offer the typical merchandise which is sold on markets world wide and are definitely worth a visit.

Shopping a Malta Shopping in Malta can be a lot of fun if you know the right places to go.
